Nathan Hughes, Member-At-Large 

Nathan Hughes, M.Ed., holds the designated MCEC self-advocate board seat.  He was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome at the age of four, and has dedicated his career to helping those with similar needs be as successful as possible. Currently, Nathan works for Northeast Independent Living Program in Lawrence, Massachusetts and advises and coaches high school students aged 16- 22 who are working toward increased independence at home, in the workplace and in their communities. Nathan received his Master's of Education in 2016 from Lesley University. His work focused on the students with disabilities in grades 5-12, and included research internships at Lesley University and at the Lurie Center for Autism in Lexington, Massachusetts.
